At a Belgium Beer Cafe
Posted By: pop4, 11-26-2009, 08:12 AM

Went out for dinner with a few friends at the Belgium Beer Cafe, and naturally my K-7 came along. It was a chance to check out the hi-ISO performance of the camera in real world conditions and I think ISO 1600 is perfectly acceptable, and ISO 3200 isn't too shabby.

ISO1600, F2.0

I popped my AF-360FGZ on the camera and bounced off the ceiling for a few shots...and had the whole restaurant looking in my direction, wondering where the big bright light came from The flash unit made for a good shot, but kills the ambient atmosphere (for the other diners at least!!).

ISO3200

Off to Max Brenner for some dessert. ISO3200

I like them all, looks like the K7 handled that situation perfectly.

Ahh, nice perspectives here.
Well done.
Hasn't done badly at ISO 3200 either.
The flash certainly helped with enhancing the colours and contrast.
Watch out for the red hues to the images - might need a tinker with WB.

Nice series, getting thirsty
Nr. 4 is very well done, bright colors.
I think the white balance of the others is a very little to red.
Enough about the pictures, for me a Leffe triple please, Proost!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I actually started off shooting at ISO1600, then decided to try ISO3200, and whaddaya know, it's not too bad!
Yeah, the WB is a bit warm, but the lighting in the restaurant was that dim warm colour, so I didn't want to cool it down too much.

I actually liked the Hoegaarden more than the Leffe, but both were quite nice and came in 500ml servings too

Very good images and performance from your K7. I'm a little surprised that there isn't a Bud Light tap at the bar now that InBev owns it!
