Train to the clouds - Argentinian northwest
Posted By: Andres, 11-29-2009, 08:12 PM

I had a weekend trip to the Salta Province and took the "Tren A Las Nubes" aka Train To The Clouds. It's the highest train here and one of the highest trains in the world WITHOUT a rack or zip system, and it reaches 4200 meters above the sea level! (departure station is at 1187 meters a.s.l)

All photos with the 18-55 at f:8 (I love that lens at that F!) you can see the EXIF at my flickr stream anyway (see my signature)

1. Winding road

2. The air is rare here... It's 4187.6 meters above the sea level (see next photos)

3. "La Polvorilla" viaduct, 4187.6 meters above the sea level and 63.4 meters high.

4. Colours

5. On the viaduct.

6. Cleaning Up The Sky
NOTE: This is not from the train, actually it's in the middle of Salta City, it's taken from a cable-car which takes you to the "San Bernardo" hill.

Andres - this is a stunning kit lens series.
Can't do much better than that.
Absolutely love #4 - not just the colours but the form and textures as well.
#5 is a great perspective shot.
The rest are good results too.
Well done with these.

Stunning photos, in particular numbers 4 and 5. I also like no. 6 for the drama and light!

Fantastic, love the scenery and you have done a good job of capturing it!
I think you have done well at taking these from a moving train also.

The creative placement of your watermarks amuses me too
