Nicely done on all counts (other than perhaps the monkey capture - a little soft and noisy).
Love the vibrancy and compositions of all the others.

Im so so so happy now!!!!

My mother is from Sri Lanka, and i have a very close relationship with the island!

Was there last year for six weeks, going all around and about the place, and visiting my relatives!

THATS when I decided to go from compact camera to DSRL

Now i cant wait to go there with my camera bag......

Oh yes.....nice pictures mate!

And thanks for making me feel good!

Ha! This is my second trip to Sri Lanka - and just like you, the first time, I had a point and shoot; although a nice 10X, I just had to upgrade to a DSLR.

Unfortunately, for this trip we went during the rainy season, which is not good for wildlife shots - and like you, spent time running around seeing relatives (but not for as long as you - 6 wks - nice!). But I managed to get shots everywhere we went - so look for more.

Striking Images from a captivating Island! I had a friend from Sri Lanka that was a Montessori teacher here on the East Coast,USA...but...she has since moved to the West Coast. I miss her and the great dinner parties she put on

Absolutely love the last one.

Just a minor quibble.. none of the photos scream 'Sri Lanka'. Could have been taken in Kuala Lumpur or Brisbane or Hawaii..

I agree. These don't scream Sri Lanka - they were simply a few photos from one day of shooting - as I go through my photos, I'll be able to paint a more complete picture of Sri Lanka - but unfortunately, I didn't get to go to the beach (probably the first people ever to visit Sri Lanka on holiday and not go to the beach - not my choosing - family circumstances) so I'm afraid the portrait will remain incomplete.
