Muddy waters
Posted By: JMR, 12-02-2009, 06:29 PM

Pun intended for the great blues singer. Anyway, it looks like I need a polarizer, which I failed to buy, thinking I did not need one. I shot quite few images at the Forks of the Credit River of patterns of moving water. They looked spectacular on the back of the screen, I guess because of the high contrast. What I got back was all these muddy, foggy looking images, created by the moving specular light, which I could have removed to a great extent with a Polarizer. Live and learn, folks.

Just gorgeous JMR. I love it.
Perfect exposure, perfect exposure time, great framing.
It's a wall painting.

Thanks Ash. It does look a bit surreal. It was my last picture of the day at the river.

Strikes a chord - actually three chords (I-IV-I-V-IV-I-V7) (ho, ho, ho) - with me. Nice shot, JIMBO.

Just added two more, if anyone cares to see. The last is not a double exposure or an Orton, but a simple camera movement exposure. I like the painterly results.

Thanks for your candid remarks Ash. Perhaps I have grown too attached to some images. No 3 was a long exposure of about 8 or more secs, so I let it record for about 3 secs and then did little circles with the camera. Doesn't always produce good results but it looks great on landscapes where the light is dim.
