Moon tonight

Taken with a Sigma DG EX 100-300mm f4 and SIgma DG EX 2x teleconverter.
Hand held.

How the hell did you get this photo? I am new to moon photography. Have a Sigma 70-300 and a 2x TC. Any advise would be welcome Thank you!

Did you do any stacking with this shot? I've used a 2x TC on my 400mm and found the IQ was worse then if I took the shot without and cropped the shot. Yours has turned out pretty good.

Great shot, I've been waiting for the moonrise tonight for several days... and we got a completely cloud covered night. We've got a blue moon coming later this month, so another chance.

Well done! I hope to get one this good sometime.

I can shoot handheld quite good but at 600mm I wouln't even attempt it. You beat me, it is a very nice moon shot and thanks for posting it.

WOW...awesome moon shot! With steady hands like yours...I wouldn't even need image stabilization

No stacking, just a straight shot with crop and some processing.
I do find the IS very good on Pentax ... apparently the K-7 is a lot better than the K10D. Hopefully I will find out soon.
