How cold can it get there in Houston for it to snow like that?

It's actually still above freezing right now. About 36° F but the snow was coming down faster than it was melting. The temperature is currently dropping and will probably hit the freezing mark in an hour or two and we're expected to stay below freezing for 12 to 18 hours.

I've never seen snow come down this fast before in Houston. Once I get home later I'll probably post some more pics.

I'm currently down by Angleton for the day. That's what it looked like here too.

Did you see the snow last year after Hurricane Ike? I think it was Dec. 10th maybe. It was snowing just as hard, if not harder.

Where do we go to learn how to drive in this?

C'mon up to Minnesota. It usually takes a couple of snowfalls for people to get their winter driving skills back in shape - but then for the last 8 months of winter or so we're not too bad!
Supposed to get about 6 inches next Wednesday - if you're in the neighborhood.....

We've seen flakes falling off-and-on all afternoon here in Lake Jackson, but nothing is sticking - the ground is far too warm, but a few bridges might get a bit dicey tonight if the temp drops further.

We've had several snows in October and in some places in the state about 18 inches. However, now it's dry but the temperature is around 28 degrees now, but this morning at 8:00 AM it was 10 degrees. I noticed on the weather channel that it was snowing down in Lousiana and Texas.
