Some "after the storm" snaps.....
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 12-05-2009, 07:35 PM

.....from this morning. Not great art just a few shots to let those in warmer climes see what the real north looks like. It was not that cold, -8C. Tomorrow night it is supposed to go down to -29C

View from the dining room (my "birding" window)

From The front door, high center behind the pickup there are two cars totally buried in the drift.

The rear door

Along the side of the house, it is amazing how those drifts form, it looks like there might be a structure under the snow but the whole "sculpture" is on the ground

K20D and 16-45

Oh thank you Heinrich...just what I was wishing for this Christmas in Carolina
Would you mind sending some my way on December 25th? BTW...I like your birding window...imagine the snow might make it rather bright right now...so I may need my sun glasses Look at the iced lace on your rear window... a virtual winter wonderland

What smooth snow. #2 is very pleasant.
Looks like a lot of work to do.

Ahhhhh . . . . I remember the "post-snow-storm feeling" from our days in Michigan and Ohio, and these shots capture that feeling very well. You seem to bring the perfect touch to all sorts of photos, Heinrich.

We actually had some snow showers on Friday - nothing stuck, but "storm" gave me the chance to cavort around with my Granddaughter catching snowflakes on our tongues.

Cool images Heinrich; living in Perth, Australia is about as far as one can be from snow... Much to my disappointment at times. It was 37 degrees here on Saturday (close to 100 fahrenheit).

Nice snow photos cheers,

Thank you Jan, we'll gladly send you all the snow you need. From the inside and even for the first couple of minutes outside it looks all very pretty but when the work starts.....

Take care,

I love how the drift formed in the last pic.

On the coast we're getting some strong NE winds but it is still above freezing (save for the windchill). We were promised trace amounts of snow last night but that never happened

Hi Dave and thank you. The highway from here to Calgary was closed a couple of times, so was # 1. And yes, we had to shovel again this morning as well.

Take care,
