i focused on the piling and waited as i knew it would happen. smc 500mm f4.5 @ f8. distance 60-70 meters. a three shot series.



a center crop of the last one..

meters??? it's on the lens and i wish we here in the USA would switch. such an easier mode to use.
i'd love to have a 300*4.5 but it's really out of the $ range now. the 500 to me is not hand holdable but i do plan on trying it on a monopod. first experience with a mono was unproductive. hopefully i'll get better.. using the 500 is a whole different technique that i'm slowly gaining.....

Or metres as they are here, it's refreshing not to have to convert to metres for a change! Keep it up! I wish you would switch too.

Great shots! It seems you spent a great deal of time anticipating for that shot. Amazing that the crop of the shot still reveals such vivid colour and sharpness.

PP helps... this is original resized from 1500 to 792dpi with no PP.
of course the actual original is a lot better than this as it was a raw file..
