Swirls and rapids

A more painterly look at rapids and moving water. Swirls of white with pockets of blue and green making their way around the rocks.

Hey JMR - you're becoming the master of texture and rhythm! Great timing. I love the muted colors.

Because of the rocks, it's the tiniest bit right side heavy. Not that it's a bad thing.

Also - I know you're more of a purist than most - but it might work flipped horizontally. Since most of us are English readers (to be posting on this forum), without further information, our eyes probably like to scan from left to right. Currently, the water flow runs counter to our scan and the dark stones create a wall that also blocks the scan. This of course could be a good thing...

I d/l'ed it and flipped it. Not sure which I like better - but I thought I might mention it if you were so inclined.

In any case, I like the painterly effect!

Sometimes a photo will immediately suggest an alternate look, but I didn't see it in this one. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks, when doing these, I try different shutter speeds, to see which will produce the effect I desire or like.

OK. I told my wife to get rid of the magazines and make way for the new book!

Yes, many people forget that rhythm can be a subject in itself. Thanks.

Very nice JMR, especially the first one. It needs to be printed and hung on a wall.

Didn't see these until now JMR.
Just brilliant.
They both are.
Love them.
With all the abstracts/impressionisms you have, you could easily publish.
