A different approach
Posted By: Rense, 12-08-2009, 08:36 AM

Sitting home ill, I'm trying to find something to do, so I revisited some of my photos
from last summer. After some nice examples of coastal landscapes at
naturephotographers.net, I decided to give some of my 'almost-in-the-waste-
bin-photos' a second chance, by do some alternative pp'ing. And I am shocked by
the results. At least for me this kind of pp'ing works, even with this photo that I
wanted to throw away at the end of the year. What do you think? Is this a way to
go, or should I return on my steps, and shred this one in cyberspace?

I agree with all the mates before. The degradation works perfectly with the softness of the sand and the sea. The sharp plants and birds make a good contrast. And the pic has a melancholic touch that moves. Great job.
Thanks a lot Juan!

Rense, that is one fine capture and the pping has certainly highlighted the best of it. I love the composition and the use of white vignetting; it draws my eye to the center dip in the sand to the left of the flying gull. I bet it would look fantastic printed and mounted on the wall. Thanks for sharing.

lovely composition. I really like the dominant white theme. It might just be me but i'd like the borders [around the 4 corners] to recede just a wee bit more so that more of the image can be enjoyed ^^
