So several more candidates for the waste bin, but PP'd this way I like them, like the earlier posted one...

I had to come back and look at these again. They're growing on me. I am starting to really like the look.

Or perhaps it's just that I bought more black ink for my photo printer last night.

Either way, they look great.

Josh, thanks for the comments, and thanks! Hereby the second one without the anti-vignetting, on your request. How could I resist...?

Thanks Rense - I do really like this full version, but unfortunatly, that hot spot in the sky with no detail actually blends well into your earlier version. Treated this way, you'd need perhaps a more panoramic crop to mellow out the sky - Wonderful photos again!

I'm not a fan of the lame white vignette. Get rid of it in your best image, the second one, as you already did... and don't look back.

i just had a look at all of these images. The stark contrast of the scenes lead themselves to black and white formatting. The images are very well processed and wonderfully framed and composed. There's not a poor one in the group. The vignetting (edge blurring) works very well. Great stuff.

The second one above is incredible. I do wish for a bit more detail in the upper sky though.

Rense, to me these all work as well.
Almost minimalist, but again aptly PP'd and framed.
Suits perfectly and good enough for a gallery.
Well done again.
Thank you Ash! On the Dutch forum it was called 'almost minimalist'
too . And the same person suggested to print them on canvas
and hang them. Not in a gallery, but in one of those dandy beach
cafés....

Thank you Matiki! These will spare you a lot of ink, with so many whites

Hey Josh, thanks for looking again! I think that overexposed left sky makes this one work, don't you?
But in the original, there is enough detail! Only not in the second version that I posted, which was the
same as the first (so heavily overexposed in PP) except for the vignetting.

Thank you Mischivo! The vignetting was the whole purpose of this exercise, so, if you don't mind, I'll keep it. And I won't look black. Ehh, back!
Thanks for your comments anyway. I think this has to do with taste, don't you? And I know, this is not everyone's taste!

Hi Don, I already saw you mentioning you commented here. Thanks for your interest and comments!

Recently, I saw someone commenting: "A woman can change her mind". Well, that's obvious .
For those not following the PM'ing between Iris and me (and I guess most of you don't ): she had a
moody feeling with these pics, as if they were funeral cards. "In Loving Memory". I guess she's right,
many of those cards here are styled in this way.....

But thanks for looking again! (And I hope you don't mind sharing your thoughts with the world....)

I don't have a choice, do I ?
Of course a woman can change her mind .
To proof I have changed my mind I put your white-on-white picture of me in my guestbook!

Really impressive series Rense - #1 really does it for me. But the others are still great. Brilliant treatment of the subject and an inspiration.

As has been suggested they could hang in a gallery! I'd add my vote to that!

Cheers
