Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 06-12-2007, 11:16 PM

it lasted all of half an hour, some rain, some hail and it was all over.

It looked way worse than what it was.

The first one with the contrasting bright areas is more effective.
Thanks for sharing.

Looks like one of those 'grab the kids and the Bible and head for the basement' types of storms. I too like the contrast and the saturation on the first shot.

You southerners are getting it this spring eh ! By the time the storm got up here it settled down with light rain, some wind and a little cold air.

I like the first shot as well. I almost took one of the sky last night - what was special about it was the wind and the speed of the clouds, something a still would not do justice.

Nice shots Heinrich, you folks sure had some scary weather warnings out for your area last night.

It did look that way but nothing drastic happened. I do like the first shot as well, the second one is essentially the same exept taken at an wider angle.

Thanks for looking and commenting, take care,

Heinrich

Thank you Tracy for both compliments. A lot of sweat went into that backyard in the last 5 years.

Take care, Heinrich

I am glad to be in the sunny (if stormy) south. LOL,. We lived in the real north (Yukon) for many years so this is a change but given the chance I'd move back to the Yukon in a heartbeat.

I agree, the first shot is the best of the three.

Take care, Heinrich

Thank you, and yes there were scary warnings out and while warnings are good and one should listen to them, often they are dramatized and exaggerated.

Take care, Heinrich
