Sunshine Coast meetup
Posted By: Ash, 12-10-2009, 12:57 PM

The 8th of Dec meetup at Australia Zoo was enjoyable. It was the first time for my family and I to go there and my impression was that it is a hard-earned legacy Steve Irwin worked and fought for - and his family is continually working to keep the zoo alive and growing.

Meeting up with Grant (Mallee Boy), wife Anne (Mallee Girl) and Dan (dodsan) & family was great. But without further ado, here are some of the highlights from the zoo visit:

Crocodile hunter series:

And finally an attempt at a BIF shot:

Hi Ash,
It was a good day out and a pleasure to meet yourself, Christine (& girls) and Dan & his family.

Look forward to doing something again, and hopefully the weather may be a little kinder (it was HOT guys, very bloody hot!!)

Very nice shots, looks like you are getting a handle on the HD.

Here's a couple more from the day.

Cheers
Grant

We decided to run a couple of auto focus tests to put the nay sayers to the sword once & for all.

Great stuff mate.
Love how the 200 renders images.
Brilliant.
And the sunrise shot... pristine. Love the natural beauty captured here.
Yeah, we should gather again - on a fine non-summery day...

Lovely set of images.
Now you guys have got to get to Mary Cairnscross park (maleny) and also the park at Mt Mee that overlooks the glasshouse mtns for some sunset and sunrise shots.
These two places at dusk overlooking the mountains are magic !!!
Cheers Neil

Thanks Neil and Georg.
Mary Cairncross was in our sights but timing wasn't right with the family, so next time.

We had visited the fine spot last time we were at the Sunny coast in 2006:
