Out in the cold, plus a cat
Posted By: scott-devon, 12-12-2009, 09:55 AM

Went out early this morning hoping for some interesting early light but only got one shot that I sort of liked..

A shot of the temperature showing on my car dash, must be why I didn't stay out longer...

I really should change the time on my car clock...but heck, it'll be right again come spring..

One of our cat from last night. Bad job burning out the background but I was just playing with the burn tool for the first time. It's an interesting tool...

Look at that cat's eyes. The eyes' colors surrounded by the grayish fur made the photo looks like one of those color highlighted photos.

The cat's expression is priceless too

I struggle to imagine -33 too... I've been skiing etc, but thats on another level!
I like the cat shot, IMO the black background works well.

Thanks for the kind comments! I was very happy with the cat shot as it came out other than the cluttered background so tried blacking it out with photoshop which seemed to work pretty well.

Nice images Scott, The first one makes it look colder than what it already is, second one, leave the clock alone you'll just have to do it again in the Spring. The cat picture is really good, the black background looks good at this size.

The Canadian prairies are very brutal in the winter time. I used to live in Saskatchewan from 2000 to 2003, and every winter, during their many -20C and below days, breathing in resulted in the hairs in my nose freezing up and feeling funny.

Really nice shots, Scott. Love the cat shot, just beautifully done. The temps you quote are something we Aussies cant even imagine.
I have never been in a minus temp in my life.
