It was colder today -38 celsius in the country but frosty days like this bring a clarity of light I couldn't resist.

Cool pictures. Heard it got down to -45c at the Edmonton Airport last night. [with no wind chill] Now that is cold. JIM

Yep, I heard that and since I live about 5 minutes from the airport I stayed indoors last night...

Three very nice images Scott, love the last one. For my taste the second one is a little dark.

Chilly scenes. These are temperatures unheard of in the southern hemisphere! I've barely experienced any temperature below +3C...

Do you guys switch off your freezers for those cold months and just store your frozen foods outside?

Heinrich, you are right. I meant to lighten that shot drastically but missed that step in processing.

Ash, that isn't a bad idea but I wouldn't dare tell my wife she had to go out in the snow to get supper....
