Couple for Mr Riley and Mel
Lens: 16mm Camera: K20 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: >6s Aperture: F22
Posted By: Jimbo, 12-17-2009, 11:52 AM

While I was visited my dad in Revelstoke BC I stayed at a BB and right across the street was the old court house. Decided to try some night shots after remembering the work that Mike and Mel did. Here are a couple. JIM

One more. Tough to get the exposure right with the lighting on the dome. JIM

Wow thanks for thinking of me!! Nice shots. I'm hoping for a really big snow that'll last more than one day so I can get some night shots with snow reflections. Yeah that lit up dome would make for some tough exposures. I think I like the second one best.

Frosty conditions to go out shooting at night Jim!
But you've done well with this difficult scene.

It was easy. You and Mike had some awesone photos and this old court house reminded me at your thread. Cheers JIM

Thanks Ash. I had to unexpose the third shot to get some of the bright dome to show up thus the building is a little dard. Left my ND's in my room. JIM

Well done Jim! Think I have to go for the 2nd shot myself. I like the composition and perspective. The 3rd one is a tough nut, with so little light on the facade and so much on the dome. Almost think a split neutral density filter could answer the issue.

And btw, I'm flattered and humbled that we inspired you.

I agree with the ND filters, which I left at the hotel. Cheers JIM

Hey Jimbo.....think there's something wrong with your camera, the foreground is all funny....sort of blown out whites.

Weird.

Cheers mate.

That's right. You have not seen this stuff before! Really cool... It was beautiful here Grant and I wish I had more time. I was there helping my dad who is going through some difficult times. [memory loss] Long story. Cheers JIM
