Pictures look very good to me. I would just brighten up the color photo in Photoshop with a touch of levels. What did you pay for the lens and does it work in auto. If not is it easy to focus. Looks interesting to me. Freddy

I used to have an old Vivitar 135 f2.8 back when I had my ME Super. I loved it. Paid $30 for it. Wish I still had it.

Could you post a picture of the lens? My father-in-law gave me a Sears Auto 135 F2.8 and a Sears Auto 50 F1.7 attached to a Sears KS-2 camera the other day. I think he paid 10 dollars at a fleamarket for them all. During my searches, I've found that the 135 may be a rebadged Vivitar, but I haven't been able to find much info on it. I've found it to be pretty sharp at F5.6 +.

Thanks for sharing.

Vertex Ninja, I just sold one on Ebay not long ago. they don't get much money at least the the M versions. It's a very good lens but I got an A SMC 135 f2.8 so no need of both. If you can get one for under $50.00 it's well worth it. Mine sold for $34.00 USD

Thanks Peter,
That does look just like the "Sears" that was given to me. Can't beat free, I guess!

It is a surprising lens for the money.

A lot of the Sears and JC Penney camera equipment was made by Ricoh. Actually, I don't think Vivitar made their own equipment. The Series 1 lenses were made by Kiron. I think the flashes were made by GE, or something like that. Back then names didn't matter as much. If it worked you used it. The Vivitar 283 was the most used flash on the planet, even with Nikon and Canon shooters.
