Great stuff Scott,

We seem to have Woodpecker theme going here. I didn't realize the Downy was so wide spread but my field guide indicates a range that includes most of North America. Your subject seems to be a little more at ease in the open than mine. I usually have to do some serious cropping to get rid of the distracting branches and twigs. We have a hawk in the area which keeps a lot of the smaller birds closer to the safety of the branches.

Those are very good Scott - very sharp in harsh lighting conditions - well spotted.
