2009 Melboure MRA Toy Run
Camera: K200D

Started in 1978, this is an annual motorcycle charity ride, (that attracts over 10,000 bikes), with meet points all over Melbourne & Australia for that matter. I was at the Cranbourne meet point and had a police escort all the way to Williamstown with the rest of the ruffians. A toy is the most common donation and makes it quite a cheery day.

It's a great cause for the children and it's great to see so many bikers supporting something as important as this.

Cheers Ash.

The actual ride itself wasn't too crash hot at all. 60 km/h the whole trip along the freeway with trucks flying past us at 80+

10,000 bikes? Wow. That's a group that'll stop traffic for a while.

It's amazing the things motorcyclists get involved with. The group I ride with has chosen the St. Jude Children's Hospital to support with an annual ride to deliver the year's donations.

Nice shots of a great event. Well done, all the way around.

Nice capture, a good record of the event. We have one in our area too, attracts up to 1000 bikers. It is great to see.
"Big John" from our town started the concept, many years ago and its taken off from there, all over the country.

Nice photos. I did the ride a few years in a row a while back. It was a good day with the bikes covered in tinsel and toys. We met at the Palais Theatre - I gather now the end point has changed to W'town then?

Yep. Williamstown is usually overrun with bikes by 10.

I think the Geelong crew head to a Queenscliff gathering though.
