Northern Cardinal
Posted By: Marc Langille, 12-25-2009, 03:54 PM

Our first white Christmas in 10 years here in Arkansas - memories of the home country... A balmy 23F or -5C without the windchill.

Northern Cardinal:

Link to EXIF, since the drop down menus don't cover all apertures and shutter speeds.

Here is the summary for the EXIF:
Date Taken 2009-12-25 15:50:29
PENTAX K10D
Exposure Time 0.002s (1/500)
Aperture f/7.1
ISO 250
Focal Length 600mm (900mm in 35mm)
Photo Dimensions 3872 x 2592

Here's the crop inserted into the original post:

Hope you enjoyed this image - Merry Christmas everyone!

Cheers,
Marc

It's a gem of a lens Jim! No question, although some folks might question your sanity when going mobile. That's carting around over 22lbs of weight when you add up the camera+grip, lens, gimbal head and tripod.

Thank you for the very kind words and hope it's a good holiday season for you Jim!

Simply gorgeous work, Marc. Glad to see cardinal images here again
James, hope you are doing well and thank you. Your comment now has my curiosity - has there been a lack of Northern Cardinal images?

If so, here's an earlier thread:

Thank you Peter for the very kind words! I am not sure if the cropped portrait would be a bit too much for PPG?

Congrat's a well deserving photo. Now I can dream of a FA* 600 f4 and a brain to learn to shoot that good.

Great shot Marc. Other than your image I haven't seen a Cardinal all winter. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Fl-Gulfer and Ash for the kind comments - I'm just lucky sometimes.

My apologies for the absenteeism - I've away a lot at the forums due to travel and other things (sports). I was away for 12 days in March to Colorado and will be back there again in July for more sports stuff. I did help with the Pentax Forums pano judging, so it was behind the scenes more than anything...

Regards,
Marc
