Oh the poor wee K100D powers on for it's 3rd-4th year of harsh winter weather. I really have abussed this wee thing, but it's so reliable!

Hope you all got some craking christmas shots!

Looks like you had yourself a good Christmas wander and came away with some good pictures.

They are both good but IMHO could benefit from some PP. The first one is for my tastes a little on the dark side and needs some creative cropping. On the second one I would crop the sky down to just above the tree tops. I really do like the color in the second one.

#1 is also a little on the cool side - which isn't bad, quite apt actually, but obviously unnaturally cool.
Very nice results.

I havenīt the knowledge of Heinrich and Ash, so my comment itīs to say i like very much both of them. First reflex the cold of ice in a strong and poetic way. And the light in the second is sweet and marvellous.

Are you talking about the big black blob on the right hand side above the ice. That demented me too but it's literally black on the original RAW. Underexposing fail

And I agree on the sentiments about the coolness of the first shot. I'll probably go have a wee play later

Glad y'all liked them

I like both of these, but I think the first is striking. I do think Ash and Heinrich have some good ideas here; I've learned a lot from those guys.
