Micro and Mini Car Show (5 pictures)
Posted By: irishinmo, 06-17-2007, 05:59 PM

Another car show this weekend. This time it was micro and mini cars. Only a few cars there, but still very interesting. Here is a selection. The pictures are straight from the camera except for resizing for the web and blurring license plates.

All taken with K110D and kit lens.

Those are great;haven't seen any of the older cars around in years. I once had a ride in an Isetta on the New York State Thruway, in heavy traffic. We were inbetween large trucks most of the time and I can still remember it as one of the scariest experiences of my life. Those little cars were ultimately banned for safety reasons (and those were the days when nobody much cared about anything like that).

Great photos Will. I've always wanted to see an Isetta. That one looks to be in excellent condition.
Here is a photo from one of the shows I attended this year. On the back of a Morris Minor:

I don't know how close to the truth it is.

Thanks for the comments. These are fun cars, but I wouldn't want to drive one around everyday. It was scarey enough driving around in an MG 1100 back in the 60's. I couldn't do the speed limit on highways and trucks looked twice as large in the rearview mirror.
The Morris license plate is a real laugh. Sometimes it felt like you could only do 18.
