As shot versus PP
Posted By: Jimbo, 12-29-2009, 11:35 AM

Shot this image this morning. The first is as shot. I loaded to Lightroom [there is a small adjustment on the sharpness which is automatic on Lightroom 3.0] and then switched over the Elements to complete. THe second is my workded on version. I am leaning towards the non processed image? JIM

Thanks Mel. I was trying to show what can happen if you push the PP'ing too much on a already balanced image. I too love this area though I have found a new one!! Stay tuned. JIM

Like them both, maybe the original more, the processed one has that beautiful blue in the mountains though!

My initial reaction was that I preferred the first (nonprocessed) image. As I continued to admire your excellent capture and the beauty of the scene, I began to lean towards the second version particularly the blue in the mountains as noted by gawan above.

Can't wait to see your photos of the new area that you have found.

Very spectacular capture! I can't hardly believe the dynamic range of this right out of the camera - very nice, and excellent framing.

I like the processed image, but I tend to like very punchy/contrasty images.
