Nice! My batallion chief (a supervisor in wildland firefighting in the US Forest Service) used to tell me, "Fire's good, more fire's better!" (most people in fire fighting work are pyros to some extent ).

I really like the first shot there... looks like money! (I can almost smell that smokey overtime money-making smell )

that's really odd of him to say that... a true soldier is there to "prevent" war first and foremost, then secondarily to act upon it when it does occur. But like I said above, love the shot, full of movement!

Nah, it's not odd at all... He was referring to the use of fire in the forest to prevent the heavy loading of fuels which leads to catastrophic wildfires, it's called prescribed fire, or managed fire, or controlled burns (though they're getting away from that last term as when they get out of control, it's embarassing ). Fire is a good and natural part of the ecosystem - very unlike war in this respect.

However, he did have a double meaning - we all understood him to mean that getting to do our jobs is good (hazard pay - and something to do rather than paint another building this afternoon) and getting to do our jobs more is better (overtime) - this feeling is shared by most (all?) US wildland firefighters. We're there to fight fire - fire's good!

Love the first one! Its captivating and hypnotical, just like staring into a real fireplace. Very good.

"Fire's burning... draw nearer... In the glowing, in the glowing..." OK, that' s enough. Great first shot.

Well done!

Both photos are awesome, yet my fave, for some reason is the second one.
Have a great New Year!
