Hi I am new member Here are some of my K10D Images
Posted By: petekd, 06-18-2007, 05:28 AM

Hi Folks

My name is Pete from England. I am new to this foruma s I have just come accross from the pentax user forum. There may be some members here from there but I do see many usernames I dont reconise.

I have been doing photography for 6 months now and brought my first DSLR the K10D in Dec 06. I have learned so much from the pentax users in the other forum and have taken a load of stick (critisism) along the way. I am now ejoying photography so much and I love the K10D.

Here are a few of my recent images (Comments Welcome )

These first two shots were took with a 1/2 to 1 second exposure and using ND grad filter (the first time I have used them) I wanted to catch the water movement as well as the mood of this wonderful Spanish Dawn. It killed me to get up at 05:30 am especially on holiday but it was worth it and very inspiring.

Aperture was small around 22 I think as I wanted maximum depth of field. I may have used two filters to get the desired effect. The only PS work was a little cropping and sharpening (a little) as I wanted to let the K10d do the work and my eye sort out composition.

This next shot is a typical postcard image but the composition inspired me as you tend to be looking all around the image to see what you can find. I liked the lone person in the shot for me it added to the scene. Dont know who she was

Again I used a small aperture and tried to get the exposure right

This next image was just before sunrise. I enjoy looking at it because it is a calm setting and really captures the mood and spiritual feeling I had sitting alone on the beach.

This shot was just a bit of fun to capture the reflection in Helens Sunglasses

Another experimental shot using a very large aperture with my Penatx F 50mm 1.7 I focused on the Big toe (just a bit of fun)

This shot was of our hotels lifts. I like arcitecture in B&W Just took it. No real inspiration just interesting image.

Any comments very welcome

Cheers Pete

Nice work!

Perhaps Mo can move this to the "Post Your Photos" section so more people can easily find and enjoy your pictures.

Where were the pictures taken, by the way?

Nice shoots indeed. There is a weekly challenge for photos where we submit based on a weekly subject matter chosen by the thread originator (whom is the previous weeks winner) here and I think your sunset shots would make a great entry

The last two are very nice. You could probably submit the last two to some of the stock photo sites and maybe make some money.

Very nice! Welcome to the forum, a great bunch of people, although Pentax people always seem friendlier then C or N people!

Check out my photos (look below for link) I enjoy taking waterscape shots also!

Hey, great photos Pete. I am actually about to get my K10D in, just ordered it and hopefully I can take some photos that are even close in comparison to yours. Which lens were you using? If different ones, I was specifically interested in the first 3 shots.
