a Skagit Weekend
Posted By: OrenMc, 12-31-2009, 08:34 PM

I sent the wife over to spend the holidays with the grandkids so I have been batching it and I spent Christmas day and Satuday on the Skagit River.
Try as I may I couldn't get a good angle on the eagles without the suns interference.
Anyway, here ya go. Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful Oren. Just beautiful. And it dawned on me that I may be one of only a handful of people on this forum that knows how to properly pronounce Skagit. Lol.

Thanks scole,
I just saw your photos you put up and I must say there is quite a contrast in weather. I had a couple beautiful sunny days which are not typical as you know this time of year.
BTW great shots!
Hopefully within the next few months I will be able to cover 600mm because 300mm is often far to short.

Thanks again all for the comments.
We do have some beautiful countryside here, but alas, rain and wind is the order of the day.
Might have to take a drive over to the other side of the cascades.

Gorgeous shots! I live in the beautiful Skagit Valley! (For those of you that aren't sure how to pronounce it, it sounds like "skajit")

I've only had my K7 for a few months now. I'm looking forward to getting a telephoto lense in the next couple of months. I'm thinking of getting a DA 55-300. Would I be able to get close enough to capture the eagles like you did with that lense? What did you use?

Take care,

Coach Teeter

Heh, I was sitting here wondering "How could anyone pronounce Skagit wrong?" :-) Now if you want fun getting people messed up, have them try "Puyallup"

Oh, and great pictures!
