Red Shouldered Hawk

I have no idea why my settings wre so crazy...other that the fact it was extremely cold and windy for North Carolina and I must've had a brain freeze The wind also made it hard hold the focus on the subject hand held

Looks great to me, Jan. Handheld shots at 300 mm (I'm learning) ain't easy!

Thanks Jer you're right...especially on a very windy day Unfortunately all my bird photo's are handheld. I just don't have the time to set up a tripod and wait for birds to show up. I generally get mine on the way home from work and when I see a shot I pull over...get out...and get as close as I can and shoot.
