Flowers and Showers
Posted By: codiac2600, 06-20-2007, 01:42 PM

Took some pictures after a big rain and the sun began to shine early in the morning. Shot with the Tamron 28-75 2.8 at ISO 100 and Pentax K10D.

As always C&C is welcome and check the flickr account for more photos.

Nice shots - I like the second one best as they are right now - for the first one I'd add a bit more saturation (in fact it even looks like you removed some). Just my 2 cents. Its still very nice though I'd like to see one with a lot of "pop" with the same photo.

Hi codiac!

the first one looks a little pale to me, i guess adding a little saturation would work.

nevertheless the photos are very nice.

cheers from Portugal

Yes I did remove some saturation... a lot lol. The red blewout because the sun lit it up from the back so I played with some saturation bars in ACR and when I moved the slider around I came to this and liked it a lot, almost duo-tone to me so I kept it. Looks OK in color but you can see all the red is blown too much for my taste.

Thanks for looking Pornflake and maybe I'll post a full color one, but I'm so hating the blown red highlights.

I love the desat. I think it looks great, different from the norm in flower shots. Why always high saturation or B&W when somewhere in between looks really cool.

The lilies in the first look almost like some sort of bouquet.

I like the first one as it is. It has a very mellow feel with the desaturation.

the first one if definittely pront-worthy. The second one is pleasing to look at as well, but somehow the subject is less clear or something. I dont know as much about photography as id like to, so dont take my word for gospel truth.
