A Funny Series From Tyler Arboretum
Posted By: carpents, 06-20-2007, 08:47 PM

Today I went to the Tyler Arboretum. Despite how bad their web site is, it was really amazing - and I was there at a 'bad' time of day!

Anyway, here is a series of shots of the ID tags that they use. The last one I thought was really funny.

(Top to bottom: FA* 85/1.4@f/2, FA* 85/1.4@f/2.8, 31/1.8@f/2.8, Jupiter-6 180/2.8@f/2.8, Jupiter-6 180/2.8@f/2.8)

Hi Sean!

The last thing I would have expected to see from a thread with 'arboretum' in the title is the plant/equipment tags! HA!

Very neat photos of them, though!

Thanks, Tracy. I took the typical plant/flower pictures, too.

They're here.

The bokeh from the 2nd shot amazes me.

It is the texture of the plate and bokeh in the background that intrigues me.

I enjoyed this s eries of photos

Great series Sean, I have always thought that putting screws into trees was unhealthy for the tree. I love the shots and the gallery is great. Being stuck out here in the boonies of Ill. does funny things to your head, or maybe it's just that sick smell of coco. Or maybe it's just me. Either way it reminds me of two photogs in Ellicott city taking pictures of staples in a telephone poll.

I like this one alot, reminds me of Fall (my favorite season)

Yesterday sure was a great day (except for the morning). I took some pictures in our front yard, our butterfly bush is starting to bloom, but not bufferflies yet

I have a Crimson King maple and a lovely Japanese Maple (like the one you linked) that have delicate reds in them all year long. I agree though - that shot is one of my favorites.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It was a great place, I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
