New Heron Shot
Lens: 200 Camera: K20 Photo Location: Maple Ridge ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F5.6

Noticed a few Heron shots up lately so I thought I wqould throw one up myself. Taken today along with 100 more. Here is the first I finished. JIM

Sheesh...he's quite the groomer! 8 feet away?! Wow!!!
In Calgary a close shot is 80 feet away...they are so shy out here!

I love your birds Jim. What are the circumstances that allow you to get so close?
Even my citi-fied birds only give me 50m at best.

Took me a long tiome to figure them out. First, believe it or not the car is one great blind if you know where they are. It took about 10 minutes [slow] to get close enough. If they are looking for food they almost ignore me. I also have a blind that works really well. JIM

Patience. If the Heron flies away once, your done so you might as while move on the the next one. JIM
