Wow! Brilliant series. The B&W works perfect in such a scenery. Is it safe to go there?. Congratulations for these pics.

Excellent series and a very interesting subject, too! A Stalker-like feeling. How on earth have you ended up going there? (Perhaps you've told that in the websites that you link to, I'll take a look.)

Very striking photos!

Black and white really puts in context the sadness of what happened there.

Reminds me they had a story on a news show this week on that area of Ukraine and they met with homeless people who went back to live in the Chernobyl area because they had no other choices... did you see many residents in the evacuated area?

One thing that always strikes me about Chernobyl is how little we actually know about it. Yes there was a nuclear accident and yes radiation was released but what actually went on there during the frantic days after the meltdown and what it is like now are areas that are shrouded in the fogs of distance and mists of time. Is it true that helicopter pilots flew into the zone with concrete knowing that it would kill them as it did? Just how many other emergency works gave up their lives in a bid to contain the damage and spare Europe from a poisonous cloud far greater than we experienced, dying to save others. Why aren't these heroes commemorated in the west?

It is photo essays of this quality that that bring these questions to mind and keep the disaster from being forgotten and simply brushed aside by the march of history Fantastic photos that really engage the viewer. Well done.

Justin.

There are some very interesting documentaries on the subject. I found one freely available on-line, not sure if this is the one I saw on TV:

breathtaking work, mate. I read the title hoping to see some amazing photojournalism work of a place that always interest me and I got it. The first two pictures alone are definitely award worthy materials.

Magnificent series! A photojournalist's perspective of not only the disaster that happened there but also very illustrative of the ravages of time and neglect. Very nice photography, well thought out and nicely rendered. Congratulations!

These are really excellent and are a clear reminder for our industrial world. Things do go wrong.

This site is another mesmerizing view of the area. Although the site needs better organization, the content is staggering:
