I saw some Bluebirds at my daughter's school on Monday so I took the K20D with the DA*300mm & 1.7x AF TC with me this afternoon and got this shot. That combination is still too short (this is cropped to about 4MP) but I didn't have time to mess with one of my big lenses (and, anyway, it's too cold to play the waiting game, AFAIC.) Still I'm pretty happy with this on two counts: 1) In my 60+ years I'd never even seen a bluebird until the summer of 2008 and 2) I'm impressed once again by the IQ the DA*300mm & 1.7x combination delivers.
