I just got an old Ricoh APO 4.5/300 tele and tried it out this afternoon. I will have to get used to it, but I think I will like it.

Beautiful shot, I like the composition very much.
Could be sharpened a little, I think...

A good portrait of an interesting creature.
A touch of sharpening as mentioned would make this one 'pop'.

Thank you for your comments. You are probably right about sharpening but I am always concerned to do to much ... need to find out how much is ok with ACDSEE Pro (which I started using few weeks ago)

Here is another one from this afternoon with the 300mm RIKENON, some sharpening applied.

Thanks for looking

Thanks everybody for the nice comments. Very much appreciated. For sure I will keep the lens, well worth the 70 Euro "investment". I will post a review for the "3rd party lens review section" when I have used it a little more.

When I took the shots I was standing close to 2 Canon "Professionals" carrying equipment worth thousands of $$ and shooting in burst mode like crazy. They seemed to be a bit irritated by my outfit and relaxed mode of shooting. I thought it was really funny ...
