Out in the wild
Posted By: codiac2600, 06-23-2007, 08:25 PM

Well I decided to brave the little wilderness we have near my home with grass and reeds that grow about 10' high and bugs galore. The area is basically the size of football field, marshy land, reeds, tall grass and lots of trees and strange plants I've never seen. Took the trusty K10D and strapped on the Sigma 105mm and decided to play a little. C&C is always welcome and enjoy!

Brought my puppy in case I met a large scary animal... I think I would have done better alone lol.

Chris,

Nice series of macros. They look great!

Love that 4 legged thing that looks like a dog.

Yes, these are some very nice macros, Chris, and your perky looking little friend appears as if he (or she) is just itching to get into something .

Great shots, my friend.

Nice pic's like always Chris.

Good thing that you brought your protector with you, you just never know when there's a Killer Kricket ready to pounce on you

Thank Stephen and that dog kept on getting lost, he's a little to adventurous for my liking, but he'll learn.

Thanks Nathan and he got so muddy after the trip he almost begged me to stop adding more puppy shampoo into his fur. I love having someone with me, but the cleanup was much more intricate with him than my goulashes (sp?).

Thank you Heinrich and tomorrow I'm going back to do some wider angle shots with the Tamron 28-75mm. I didn't want to risk switching lenses in this area.

Those grasshoppers where everywhere! Actually the only thing scary was finding a natural spring coming up from there which was actually quite cool but made me afraid of sink holes and such so of course I sent the pup in first just in case.

I'm kidding about the last part, he was more scared than I could ever be out there. He did make it hard to photograph stuff as well with all his cuteness the bugs kept flying away.
