This lake is normally frozen solid enough to drive on this time of year. The weather is a little warm and it breaking up the ice on this lake. The Ice Fisherman are really up-set. Shot in the Okanagan last week. [Central BC] JIM

Another impressive shot--to say the least. I like the colors and the deepness of the line uniting ice and clouds. It seems to point to something higher...

It was so dark but the sky was changing so fast. I will see if I can reduce the contrast slightly. JIM

Here is a slightly toned down version. Almost loosing all color if I go much further. It was really weird lighting. JIM

To give you a better idea how fast the scene was changing here is a shot less then five minutes from the other one. Between the sun rise and fog.. I was finding it hard to get the correct exposure. I will show you a few with the sun rise later. JIM

These have quite the dramatic look about them Jim.
Each with different hues and tones creating such a sense of texture and depth.
Very interesting landscapes.

This shot is almost surreal - kind of erie, in a way. I like it a lot - perhaps the slightly toned down version a bit more, but I'm not sure.

Another thing about this post - it's an excellent reminder of how light can change dramatically in the course of a minute - great demonstration. Unfortunately, I continually learn this lesson by missing the peaks of sunsets at the marina - this year I WILL succeed.

So true about timing Jer. I find the morning better then the afternoons though thats just because of where I am located. I try to get up a hour before sun rise and set in my area. Same for night shots. Looking forward to seeing some of those marina shots. JIM

Jimbo ... amazing as always.

It's amazing how lighting can really change a scene as you portrayed above.
It really like these ... they really have impact ... the contrast works well ... even in the original.

I hope you get the chance to get some of these blown up and framed. It'd be a shame if you didn't.

Very good Jim! Thats a magificant scene. I think i like the composition mostly on this one. A good call to give the foreground more room, for the deep feeling.

Appreciate your kind words. I do print a fair amount of my images [my wife thinks too much as I always go big] Cheers JIM
