]Picture of my basement kitty - absorbing all the light.
What do you think? Cropped enough? Any post processing hints?

Cat is almost at centre of frame - could be cropped further from the bottom and right.
It's a sharp and well exposed shot (for the subject) and the blown highlights sort of complement the scene well.
The further crop is necessary though to make the subject more prominent in the frame. Either that or just fill the frame with the subject (at the cost of losing the surrounds).

It's a great shot, and those highlights don't bother me.
But I agree with Ash on the cropping!

I agree with Ash, although the background is quite bright, it emphasizes the subject. The subject would be more prominent with a healthy crop off the bottom right. The stair rail (I assume) isn't in focus anyways so it couldn't lead your eye to the subject even if it was meaningful to the composition.

Thanks for the comments - I've straightened it up, cropped it and you are all right - looks much better. Was trying to 'lead the eye' but the cropped image is definately better!
