A horse of the same color
Posted By: clarenceclose, 11-24-2006, 07:56 AM

My treatment of this composition of Windwalker was to use the color of his head to make an overall Sepia tone from the picture. C&C appreciated.

The sepia colour really works on this shot. Very nice. It's a pity you couldn't get the horse more to the left to balance the buildings in the background but then, animals don't always co-operate. Regardless, it's a great shot.

The sepia tones really works well with this shot.
the compostion is great, and the tones gives it a "when I was living back on the farm" feeling, if that makes sense.

great job

BTW, is photoshop your main editor?

cheers

Scott, Thank you. I thought about a different crop even but no deal. The perfect picture, can we use that phrase?, would be for the horse to be turned the other way at the opposite corner as the building. That would have balanced the photo more while having the horse head into the picture. Oh well. Take'um as you see'um.

Randy, Thank you. I too liked the sepia tone on this one though it is a little rich in color due to the matching of the horse's color. Still it gives a higher contrast shot. Yes Photoshop is my main editor.

Hi Clarence!

I like this one the best of all your horse shots you've posted here. It has a very nostalgic/farmish type feel to it. I liked the high key photo, too, but I really kept wanting to see the whole side of his face. Here you've shone it. I also like how the sky has an almost IR look. Really nice processing on this photo!
