Some weird weather last night

The whole thing lasted less than half an hour and produced not much of anything, just some cloud formations that I had never seen before.

Wierd indeed! These shots are really impressive - reminds me of when I was growing up in southern Illinois and going to the basement when the tornados were spotted. Well done, my friend.

Those are Mamatus clouds (not 100% sure of the spelling) and they generally form under the anvil of a developing thunderstorm or a dying one. If you ever see them at sunset they are really awesome. Nice shots!!
