Love lizards, and I know that Sri Lanka is a great place for lizard photos. Your photos have made me want to start my own thread of lizards from Sri Lanka (I thought that was better than hijacking your thread). I didn't see any like the ones you had here on my last trip to Sri Lanka - maybe next time.

A question: Is there any good shops in Colombo selling Pentax gear? And how are the prices compared to Japan and China?

Im asking because im going to Lanka in April.

And sealonsf, you are more than welcome to contribute to the thread. When did you take the shots you had posted?

I don't know of any shops that sell Pentax gear over here. Japan would probably be the best place to search for Pentax stuff but then again everything is probably expensive there. I got my gear indirectly from Amazon

In case you are not a frequent visitor April is the Tamil and Sinhala new year which maybe be of interest if your bringing your camera along (or otherwise.)

Im going with my mother (born in Sri Lanka) to visit the rest of the family! I've been there 4 times in my life. Never for new year though, so it will be interesting. We will live in Matare (south of Galle) at my aunts. I remember a quite large Buddha statue in Matare also. And yes.....my camera bag will be with me this time!

Well then the new year should give you some new photo opportunities! Coincidentally I just drove back to Colomobo from Galle which is having the Galle Literary Festival right now. Though I didn't have my camera with me.
