Well to be honest, I expected a photo of a barbecue or a barbie doll on a barbecue.

I like the image regardless

Outstanding! It has symbolic power. Like the song, "the silver thorn, the bloody rose..." And it evokes many other kinds of symbolism, like new growth striving to be free in the sun, despite the obstacles. One can easily transfer this symbolism to people.

You really should enter this image in PPG. My suggestion is to change the title. This image is too good for such a title.
