4 feet deep snow makes sneaking up pretty difficult. Only had the 200mm on and about 200 yards away - do you think they heard me ?

First time i looked at it I thought you photoshopped all the same heads as they looked the exact same for a minute

It's too bad some of them blend into the gras so well, it would have been nicer to see them all

Sneaking up, in four feet of snow? Don't you Canadians have snowshoes?

Nice shot Dave. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Gaelen - they were nervous from the moment they saw me, I had a longer lens in the car , however I knew I would have a chance to switch and as I tried to closer they scattered.

The ditch I was trying to cross to get closer was drifted in pretty good. Nothing like the sound of 250lbs breaking through the snow. Leave the freezer alone for about 1 year grant and when you open it up imagine all that white stuff on the ground - the good news of course is place your case of beer on the deck and it's forsty in about 10 minutes.

Nice shot Dave - I've tried running really fast at elk, trying to get to them before the sun set... that didn't work well at all . I think your sneaking was much more effective.
