My first Snowy owl... Not a very nice day for photography but a wonderfull day for a lifer!!!

Pat I see that you have a Sigma 600mm mirror lens, Is it something you would recommand???

It depends what you want to do with it.

For wildlife shots its quite iffy. Like most mirror lenses it's pretty soft and has an odd bookeh, being fixed at f8 you need a lot of light to use it. Also it requires stability and a SOLID tripod for any decent shots and has a RAZOR thin manual focus so you need to be dead on.

But for the price (they are quite affordable), it can be an interesting lens thats quite fun to play with.
