it isn't pretty, but it sure is FINAL...

I don't often get this sort of shot of predator and prey together. That's a great way to end the day for the spider, but the fly certainly has a bad start to his evening....

It's a bit creepy, but in a way I am almost wondering if the fly said "DOH!" before being caught...

Cheers,
Marc

Nice!

Well done, Marc. Tells a story- even though it's not one the fly would appreciate...

If we're seeing all, or even most, of the spider, that's one super-sized meal.

Got your camera back already? That shot's an eye-popper! Not only did the fly get ambushed, but it received a massive "face-plant" as well

Awesome shot - love the amount of detail and the shades of green.

Thanks Guys! I didn't know what the problem was with that fly at first - had it's rear legs sticking up off the stem of the flower... then I saw his "neck massage" therapist...

Not yet Alvin! This was the last weekend I shot with it I think. They received the camera on the 18th, called me on the 19th, and now it's coming back, 2-day shipping. General cleaning and calibration (per Codiac's post) included. I requested expedited service.

Yeah, I love the face plant too...

Terrific photos, but I don't know bugs. Is the fly losing?

Ah ya - the spider isn't giving the fly a love nibble on the neck.

Thanks! At first I couldn't understand why the fly's back legs were off the plant stem... then I looked closer...
