In another thread, I just posted a group of shots from a trip today to the Houston Zoo. During our visit, I tried to get some images in which animals' eyes were the key features. Here are the results (the last one is a silly, emperical experiment with curves and the "Clarify" tool in SPS X.

Great shots Jer, I like them all.
I like how you have gone about the "eye" theme, makes these stand out from other zoo shots. In these photos, IMO the fact that the animal is in captivity doesn't seem as important; instead I wonder about how the animal is feeling due to the way you have shown their eyes.

Thanks, Jason. And, yeah, what you're saying does make sense - pretty much what was on my mind when I took them. Although I know the animals are well cared for in good zoos, I still feel a bit sorry for them - perhaps that's why I read a little sadness and desperation in their eyes. Guess I'm just an old softie.
