Snowmaggedon 2010 - Anne Arundel County - Maryland
Camera: Pentax K10D Photo Location: Maryland - USA ISO: 100 Aperture: F5.6

Here are a few of the landscapes I took while homebound for Snowmeggedon.

I took this one mid-afternoon Friday. It was a wet snow and this yielded a lacy effect on some of the trees in my backyard.

This was taken early Sunday Morning. Beautiful blue skies, sun, and trees.

30 plus inches of snow are more than Maryland is equipped to handle. This is the condition of the road in front of my house (Sunday afternoon) after more than a dozen passes by snow plows and tractors.

This final shot is the other direction down my road. Ironically, 2 hours later a snow plow was stuck in front of my house for 45 minutes.

Nice ones. You guys got hit harder than we did. I think we got about 20-22 or so. Mike said in Sterling VA they got 29. This is unreal isn't it? We finally saw a plow for the first time about 9pm last night.

I detested snow storms when I lived in Ohio and Michigan, but the beauty of the aftermath was undeniable - as your excellent image clearly show. I love the first two.

There certainly is beauty with snow covered grounds and blue skies - great shots.

Thanks. There is something to the old saw about making lemonade out of lemons. Photography helps me get the focus off of myself and onto the beauty around us.

At least I don't live in Elkridge (about 15 minutes away). They got over 38 inches of the white stuff. Seems they were under a belt of Snow Thunderstorms. Now the weatherman is calling for 3 - 12 more inches Tuesday night. I think I am in until spring.

Since they started keeping records in 1883, this is the first winter season with two 20+ inch snow events. Since it is already a record breaker, I am content to leave it at two.
