At the Playground
Lens: 18-55 Camera: K-x
Posted By: nate_b, 02-11-2010, 01:21 AM

I had a chance to chase my son and nieces around the playground recently, and came away with some snapshots I thought I'd share. While these shots aren't destined for anything other than the family album, I have to say that the K-x performed quite well and was a joy to use. Thanks for looking, as always.

Some neat captures you have there. The last one & the child at the water fountain is quite cool.. that one would also look great in b&w.

These pictures are great! Especially pics 2,3 and 6. They show firstly the 18-55 lens good PQ and of course the photographers skills

The pictures also kinda show me that we can track kids and do well with it. This is an itching worry i have being with Pentax....I seen alot of poeple going Canikon simply for AF on their kids. I will hang on though

Great pics!

Enjoy every minute of it, Jer! If you happen to snap a few shots while you're at it, please do share them with us. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks, Dave. I also appreciate the new vocabularly word. I may just see if I can start a trend using that term here in Portland, OR. Accent and all

Thanks for the kind words, Swede. I must say that the K-x and kit lens easily outstrip my liimited ability as a photographer. For these shots I simply put the K-x in shutter priority mode, and tried my hand at AF-C for the first time. Photographing 3 year olds on the go is always a challenge, but I was pleased with the results the K-x was able to deliver. I'm sure they'll improve as I do.

Thanks, Fractal. My favorites, as well. I started to convert the water fountain shot to B&W, but didn't finish it for some reason. I'll go back and finish the job - I do agree it would suit the image well.

Thanks for the kind words, Mystic. Glad your'e happy with the K-x, as well. I had a tough time choosing between it and the K-7, but feel very good about my decision...most of the time, at least.
