2010 Chinese New Year/Street
Lens: 55mm Camera: K200D Photo Location: Melbourne
Posted By: fractal, 02-14-2010, 01:04 AM

There were a few events on today. My own birthday, Valentines day and Chinese New Year.

All taken with the Super Takumar 55/1.8 & an epic hangover.

I'm quite sure I can say this is the only time I have ever submitted an image to the Pentax forums that has not been edited in any way, shape or form.

Happy birthday Carl - and a fine candid series you've put on show for all these special occasions on the same day.
Looks like the hangover hasn't had too much effect on you.

The hangover could have worked in my favour. I'm betting it did.

Thanks for the kind comments mate.

Happy birthday Karl, looks like the Tet celebrations were an enjoyable event. How did your head cope with those whopping big dragon drums that must have been in use there?

Wonderful street shots - you did well even with a "hangover". Happy birthday - you sure know how to throw a party.

Happy Birthday Carl! I love #7 of your 1st series (really capture the couple feeling) and #1 of your 3rd series (the one where they look like they are quarreling)..

Nice shots in all 3 sets Carl. I'll say again, I envy you guys who are so adept at catching natural expresions in street shooting. Well done!

Thanks. It was the firecrackers that were making my head pound.

Thanks a lot. I’m happy with #7 as well. If the girl was smiling any more she could have burst.

I was inspired by xhanatos's 'man in a hat' image to take this one.
