seal on the seekonk river...
Camera: k-x and 55-300 Photo Location: seekonk river providence ri

this is an area i drive by on occasion... and spotted this seal on a small dock next to the boathouse where scullers from brown university row.... i have never seen or heard of a seal in this area before... the conditions were harsh, as it was about 7:20am.. brilliant sun low on the horizon.. did the best i could.... http:

Nice series, you did well in the harsh backlight. I like the first one best.

thanks all.... i hope to see this fella again... this time with the sun at my back..... it was a treat... the locals have never seen a harbor seal so far up the river...

I've been there!!! I perked up when I saw the word Seekonk. It's fun to recognize something that might be considered obscure by others. One morning while we were in Providence my husband and I went to that area. He ran and i wandered up and down that road shooting the sunrise/river/rowers/bridge and stuff. Nice shots in pretty harsh conditions. It's such a pretty area too.

i remember your photos from a while ago... very nice!! it's an interesting area... i was stunned to see the seal sunning itself in this location.... hope you enjoyed r.i.!!
