Some lost files that were misfiled until I found them this weekend.

Great shots, all of them.

What are the subjects of the first and last of the 1st post?

I don't think I've seen them before, and I'm not much of a birder so I'm clueless.

Thanks for all the kind words it's much appreciated.

I know folks like to know what gear is used. These shots were taken last year and my glass has no electronics so no exif header.

But as I remember...

First year bunting was taken with my 560mm APO triplet. This is the best glass I have and I think it shows. Resolution to burn and no CA whatsoever. It's sharper than my FA35.

Waxwing was taken with a 1000mm glass. This shot was with TC so I was getting 60x mag (2000mm effective FL). Distance was far. Across the street and in my neighbors backyard - 200+ feet?

Grosbeak. Taken in the middle of the afternoon with an approaching "storm". I liked the dramatic lighting so pushed the shutter. When I got out of the woods I found that the "storm" was a tornado that had hit my neighbors farm. He lost his granary and three of his prime breeding bulls. Otherwise no damage.

Hummer was taken with a 180 buck Sigma 70-300 zoom.

I think Grackles are one of the most colorful birds but it's subtle and hard to capture. Mostly it's iridescence and not true color so it's constantly changing depending on the angle of the light. Sort of like this...

Wildman, this is another outstanding series, I love everyone of them. Most of them though would benefit from a little color tweaking or WB adjust in Raw. Thanks for posting them.
