Zeelich...thanks for the comments...I don't agree with you on your observation however. I think the detail in the wood adds to the shot and draws the eye in...the log detail and drawing the eye to the water was what I was after here with the mountain being the second player in this image....that was the vision I saw when I took this shot.
Yes, I understand the purpose of the log in the pic. What I mean is that the size of the log is even larger than the mount. If you want the log to direct the attention to the mount, then don't lose the subject: mountain is the main subject, and log is just an auxiliary.
